24. What are the differences between fighters and bombers? Basically what comes on the blowgun. The bomber is a better value because of all the stuff that comes on the blowgun. The pipe and the quivers and the darts are all the same, it's just what comes on the blowgun.

23. Do you carry a catalog any more? No, we don't. It is too expensive to keep adding to a printed catalog. All of our product information with pictures and prices is posted on our web site. Every item we have for sell is on our secure shopping cart with pictures, prices, full descriptions, weights, etc. We do have order forms we can send to our customers that don't have a computer to view this information. However, the order forms do not have pictures of our product line. These are mail-in order forms.

22. What happened to your message board? We have added a several new message boards. We also have one posted on MSN that is nice to use if you are a MSN user.  This one is easier to maintain and delete the information that is inappropriate.

21. Is the Paintball Pistol a semi auto? No, it is not. Please read the information on this page about the paintball pistol. This is all the information we have on this pistol.  It is all the information the manufacturer has posted about the pistol.   Please make sure you understand that this is a pistol for .40 caliber paintballs ONLY. This is not the paintball pistol used in .68 caliber paintballs games. Please make sure you understand that this is NOT a semi-auto pistol either.

20. Do you carry the C02000? If so, why don't you carry the bolts? Yes, we do carry the CO2000. Ours has been redesigned to allow you to shoot any dart and/or paintballs from this unit. We found that the bolts that come with the other unit (sold at $30-$56) tended to bend the bolts. Our unit (sold around $20-$25) doesn't have the bolts with it but is more versatile.

19. What are some good uses for paintballs when hunting? The larger paintballs (the .50 and .62 caliber), are used in hunting deer. Some hunters have dipped the paintballs into the deer scent and splatted the paintball onto a tree. The deer will come up and smell this scent.

18. My darts get stuck in my .50 caliber blowgun. How come? It seems like the cones are too big. After doing some investigation to find out why people were getting the darts stuck in their .50 caliber blowguns, we found out that these people were taking the mouthpieces off of their blowguns and trying to load the dart through the pipe alone. The mouthpiece is designed to be used in conjunction with the darts. The mouthpiece compresses the dart cone just enough to allow the passage of the dart and cone through the pipe.

17. It seems like the cones are too big for my mouthpiece so I've filed the center out of the mouthpiece to make it bigger. NO, you don't want to do this. When you put your dart in the mouthpiece, it looks as if it is too big. To shoot your dart, place the sharp end of the dart through the mouthpiece and push the cone through until you feel a distinct snap. This snap means the dart has passed the safety ring in the mouthpiece and you are ready to shoot.

16. Why doesn't the .62 caliber blowgun come with a grip like the other blowguns? The .62 caliber blowgun features a different type of mouthpiece that is often used by hikers and campers. The long mouthpiece is used like a grip up around the mouthpiece. It has a crutch tip on the end so it can be used as a walking stick also.

15. When you are purchasing length, is it better to go with one piece or two pieces? Does it really make a difference in range and velocity? It's a matter of preference. Anything that is a continuous flow with no interruption of that flow is a much better unit. When you have two pieces and they are secured together by any fitting, there is a chance that air will leak from that fitting. Again, it's a matter of preference for the user. Blowguns are very popular as one-piece or two-piece.

14. When will you start carrying crossbows? We used to carry the crossbow line but discontinued it because we couldn't find a "quality" crossbow for our consumers. We will carry this line once again once we are sure it is a quality product.

13. Can you please carry these items: laser sights for the blowguns, paintball blowgun, paintball pistol, glow in the dark darts. We have always carried these items! If you missed it when you were looking for it, you can find them listed on our web site wherever it says "order form." The laser sight is a special order item but it is available for the .50 caliber and the .40 caliber blowguns.

12. Do you have to have strong stomach muscles to use a blowgun? It's not so much the stomach muscles that you need to have but more the blow you press from your lungs and your lips. If your lung power is weak, you can use the blowgun and develop that lung power. This practice is widely used in Japan. Blow on your blowgun much like you would a trumpet. A strong puff is what you are looking for. Practice is another key to silence.

11. Do you have a blowmatic for the .50 caliber blowguns? Not at this time. However, we are always looking for new products for the .50 caliber and .62 caliber blowguns. One way to stay on top of the new items would be to sign up for our newsletter. See Question #10 to find out how.

10. When will you have an extension and a high compression mouthpiece available for the .50 caliber? We are currently working on that. It should be available in a few months. If you want to be kept informed of new products, sign up for our newsletter by going to this link (Blowguns Northwest) and clicking on the link that says," sign up for our newsletter."

9. What else can I use in the wrist rockets besides the steel ammo? Many people use small rocks, paintballs or any small object can be used as a projectile.

8. What is the longest shooting wrist rocket you carry? That would be the WR-4. The most popular wrist rockets or sling shots we carry are the WR-3 and the WR-4.

7. Why don't my .40 caliber paintballs break very easily? Paintballs are temperature sensitive. The smaller they are, the harder it will be for them to break. If they are hard to break, you can use a blow dryer on them for a couple of "SECONDS." This will soften them up a bit. You can also hold them in the palm of your hand and close your hand over the paintballs. This will give them some heat also. It is important to keep them out of the heat, cold, and the sun. Too much heat can cause the gelatin shell of a paintball to soften, meaning the paintball might deform, bounce more or stop feeding into the paintball pistol or the blowgun. Never leave your paint in the direct sun. Do not buy paintballs and then leave them in your trunk. Paintballs that get too cold will eventually become deformed, and you cannot make them back into round paintballs.

6. What's the best way to store my paintballs? Store paintballs at temperatures between 60 and 70 degrees Fahrenheit, in not more than 50 percent relative humidity. Humidity and moisture make paintballs "swell up." Both the gelatin shell and the paintballs fill is moisture sensitive. They will absorb moisture and begin to swell. Once they swell, they'll never be the same again. Since you cannot take the moisture back out, it is very important to keep paintballs in moisture-barrier bags or containers. You can use the thick plastic bags they come in or you can purchase the "View Loader Paintball Holder." This item holds 700 .40 caliber paintballs. It will also accommodate the .50 caliber, .62 caliber and the .68 caliber paintballs.

There are also medical grade plastic bags or plastic bags that are four mils or more thick, like a moisture-barrier freezer bag. Paintballs can be stored in tubes or pods that have snug fitting caps. Keep the containers closed as much as you can, at home, during transport and at the field. The more humid it is, the more important it is to protect your paint from the humidity. DO NOT store paint in the refrigerator.

5. What's inside the paintballs? Food dyes (pigments), the same as those in orange soda, candies, ice cream, bubblegum, mints, etc., and polyethylene glycol (not to be confused with antifreeze). This liquid fill in a paintball is non-toxic and non-caustic, water-soluble and made of biodegradable or naturally-occurring ingredients. When a paintball hits a target, the thin gelatin skin splits open as it is designed to do, and the liquid inside makes a "paint" mark on the target.

4. Where are your prices and pictures? We have links all over our site to view prices and pictures. The best place to do so would be any of the links that say "order form." If you click the links, it will show you pictures and give you descriptions of the item you are interested in. Prices are also on this form.

3. Do you have any specials? We always have specials. They change all the time so it's really important if you are a frequent visitor to our page that you hit your "reload" button. This will ensure that you will not be viewing an old page sitting in your cache and you are getting the most up-to-date information we have. Go to any of the links that say "specials."

2. What's the difference between your .40, .50 and .62 caliber blowguns? Basically it's the size of the barrel and what the blowguns come with. The .40 caliber blowgun measures 3/8" across the barrel. The .50 caliber blowgun measures 1/2" across the barrel and the .62 caliber blowgun measures 5/8" across the barrel.

The darts for each caliber blowgun ARE NOT interchangeable. That is, they CANNOT be used in the different caliber blowguns. Click these links to find out what the different blowguns come with when you purchase them. This is EXACTLY what comes with the blowgun when you purchase the specific blowgun: the .40 caliber blowguns, .50 caliber blowgun, and the .62 caliber blowgun.

1. What are the ranges and velocities of the blowguns? This link tells you the ranges and velocities of the .40 caliber blowguns. The .50 caliber range and velocity has been estimated to be from 30-35% more velocity than the .40 caliber blowguns. The .62 caliber blowguns have been chronograph tested showing velocities of 250-288 feet per second.
